Peace in a troubled world

There was a little girl in India some years ago who could not sleep or eat for several days. She cried constantly and was in pain. All that her parents did could not alleviate her suffering until they took her to the doctor. He looked into her throat and found the problem. She had swallowed a safety pin which had opened up inside and was stuck there. He gently removed it and then all her suffering was over. She now had peace.

Reader, like that safety pin, we all have sin in us, the cause of all the trouble personally, nationally and internationally. Until this sin is removed there can be no peace. The good news is that the Lord Jesus Christ has died for our sins and made "peace through the blood of His cross" (Colossians 1:20). Only those who have believed on Him as their Saviour can experience His promise "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you" (John 14:27)
