Bag From The Ocean Reveals A Secret

DURING an expedition to explore the wreck of the Titanic, which sank after hitting an iceberg in 1912, a leather Gladstone bag was found two and a half miles down on the ocean floor. When it was brought to the surface and opened, it was found to contain US dollars, Canadian currency, and pieces of jewellery that belonged to different people. It is believed to have been filled by a looter as the ship was sinking and the passengers were rushing around in a state of panic trying to escape. It seems likely that he went down along with the bag and around 1,500 people to the depths of the Atlantic ocean. This bag has been on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
You might be thinking "What a fool he was!" but stop for a moment and ask yourself, "Would God call me a fool?" Many today, like the looter in the Titanic, are trying to grab all that they can in this world. The lottery queues are long, the places of pleasure full, but churches empty! Most ignore the fact that they have a soul and will have to give an account to God. To die in your sin will mean an eternity in hell without God and without hope, for heaven is a holy place.
The Lord Jesus said "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36). Your soul is more precious to God than the whole world. It was for this reason that the Son of God left heaven to die for our sins on Calvary's cross. He rose from the dead on the third day and is a living Saviour. He is the One who can save and satisfy those who turn from their sin and receive Him as their Saviour. What matters most is not "When will I win the lottery?" but "Where will I spend eternity?"
