Under the headline, "Body reborn", a newspaper related the story of an Italian man, aged twenty-nine, who had a rare congenital disease, and was in a serious condition. He was flown to a hospital in Miami, Florida, where he underwent six transplants. His kidneys, pancreas, stomach, large intestines, small intestines, and liver were replaced!

God has examined us like a doctor, and the Bible says, "From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it; But wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores" (Isaiah 1v6) This is how we really are in His sight. Many in their pride might reject this, thinking that all are born good, and religion is what we need. But it is what God says that matters, not what we think of ourselves!

Just as like that Italian man, we need a complete change inside. Jesus said to a religious ruler named Nicodemus, "Verily, Verily, I say, unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3v3) If God were to allow us into heaven as we are, heaven would soon become a hell! There would be wars, murders, robberies, immorality, cheating, lying and the like. We all have a sinful nature that enslaves us to a life of sinning, and brings us under God’s judgment. This is all due to Adam’s sin in the garden of Eden.

We need to be forgiven, and given a new nature so that we live a holy life pleasing to God. We need to be born into a new family altogether, God’s family! This is now possible because of the work of Christ upon the cross, and His resurrection from the dead. When you accept Him, as your Saviour, God will give you eternal life, and you will be born again. The Bible tells us what happens, "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5v17).

Reader, are you born again? Your eternal destiny depends upon it!
