Saved or lost?

When the Titanic sank in 1912, the White Star Lines office in Liverpool hung our two boards either side of the door for the thousands who had gathered for news of relatives.
One sign read KNOWN TO BE LOST and the other sign read KNOWN TO BE SAVED.
A man came out and would put up a name on either of these boards as news of survivors came through.
There are many classes on the Titanic but in the end only two really mattered.
Reader, remember that in the end it does not matter what race you are, what religion you practise, or how much wealth you have. All that matters in the end when death comes is "Are you saved or lost?".
ALL are sinners, separated from God and by nature lost. We go our own way and do our own thing and care little about what God thinks of our lives. Yet God in love for sinners sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world. Jesus said, "The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19v10). He came to save sinners by paying the price for sin at the cross so that God could righteously forgive us and yet at the same time be holy by punishing sin. Christ died in the sinner’s place and bore the judgment we deserve. He rose from the dead on the third day and through His name is preached the forgiveness of sins.
Reader, when death comes, will you be found singing hymns knowing that you shall be absent from the body and present with the Lord or will you be fearful not knowing what lies for you after death? Only faith in Christ, the living Saviour, will bring this hope to you.
